Can a dragon goby be kept in a South American Cichlid tank?
I originally wanted to have a dragon goby in my tank but decided on cichlids and kind of forgot about it. And now I am wondering if I can keep them together,In my SA tank I have a 4" JD,a 3" Red Parrot Cichlid,a 1" green terror,and a little 1" Leopard Cory (who does fine with the other fish now because they realize he actually helps keep the tank clean) I know that the gobies are supposed to be kept in brackish water but I have seen people put brackish fish in freshwater tanks, and now im wondering if I can,I only want experienced and wise people to answer,because I've worked very hard on this tank and have spent nearly one thousand dollars and countless hours setting it up, thank you and its a 55g,a 70 gallon filter,and would also like to know what i can feed them.
No. absolutely not. The jack dempsey would most likely kill it for one, and for two dragon gobies or violet gobies(as theyre sometimes called) are blind scavengers. And would be out -competed for food. My roommate had one in with a pleco and two parrots and it starved to death.
