A few questions about red parrot cichlids?
So I've been thinking of getting one, I'd just like to know if there's anything overly important I should know.
I understand they are peaceful for a cichlid and will most likely be bullied by other cichlids, they are generally easy to take care of, you can feed them; cichlid pellets, flake foods, tubifex, blood worms, and I've heard you can feed them ocean plankton too, I don't think I will but just wondering, and I will need to protect live plant roots as some will eat them, is this true? If so what else should I knoww? =)
Yep...some with uproot plant that are not well planted...they usually use these plants as hiding places but if you have other decorations as hiding places they should not bother the plants.
I will give you a few sites that will help you with about everything you need:
